Finding Services on Campus

Academic
Where can I get information about academic programs, or anything related to academic issues?
For academic inquiries, we invite you to visit InfoService, in Tabaret Hall.
ATM machines
Are there any ATM machines on Campus?
Yes, there are five in total. There are two from CIBC on the Concourse (Level 0), and one National Bank near the cafeteria on (Level 1)of the University Centre. There is one from Royal Bank in the Health Centre on the first floor, and there is a ScotiaBank in the waiting room of Tabaret Hall on the first floor in room 129.
There is also a Desjardins on the ground floor of Morisset and another on the main entry of Desmarais Hall.
Clubs and Associations
I'm interested in join a student club or association, or to start my own one. Where do I go for such information?
You can contact the SFUO (Undergraduate Student Federation) for information about group membership, group status possibilities, for a listing of clubs or a listing of associations. For funding specific projects, Community Life (that's us) has resources which could be made available.
Counselling Services
Are there counselling services offered to students?
Yes. All full time student are eligible for personal, academic and career counselling. Visit the Student Academic Success Services (SASS) website for additional information.
Day Care Facilities
Are there day care facilities on campus?
Yes. There is the Bernadette Child Care Centre. It is located on the ground floor at 100 Thomas More, and their telephone number is 613-562-5937.
Fax Service
Is there a faxing service on campus for students?
Yes, and you have several options. The University's reprography service offers fax sending and receiving services; it's located at Morisset 022, and you can call them at 613-562-5800 ext. 3711 for more information. Also, both the CRAR (located in Thompson Residence) and the RAUO (Located in Stanton Residence) also offer similar services.
Golden Key
Where do I drop off my Golden Key application?
You can drop off your Golden Key application at the Community Life Service, room 318 in the University Centre.
Graduation Photos
Can I get grad photos taken on campus?
Yes you can get grad photos on campus. This is done through the University of Ottawa Bookstore.
Housing and Accommodations
Are there any short-term accommodations on campus?
We do offer accommodations during the entire year.
90 University: suites with private washrooms and units cosisiting of bedroom, washroom and living room.
160 Chapel: One bedroom apartments, furnished with bed sheets and services.

Do you have an off-campus housing service?
Yes. You can find it at http://www.uottawa.ca/students/housing/OCH/.
How much does it cost for student residence?
You should find the information you need at the Housing Service's website.
Jobs
I'd like to take music lessons. Where can I find a musician to provide such a service?
You will find information at the main reception desk at the Music Department, which is situated in Perez Hall. You can find Perez hall on our campus map.
I'm interested in being an ambassador or tour guide for the University.

Is there a place on campus I can go to where they'll help me find a job?
Yes. You can visit the Career and Employment Centre, found in room 312 in the University Centre, or you can visit their website.
Lost and Found
I lost an item in the University Centre, where do I go to find it?
You can check at the Community Protection Booth located on the ground floor (0) of the University Centre. If it was stolen in the Cafeteria, you can also so try the cafeteria management office (Chartwells) within the Cafeteria. You may also want to try the Parking Office, located on the ground floor of 100 Thomas More.
Meal Plan
Could you tell me about the meal plan service?
The meal plan is managed by Chartwells. For information about the meal plan, please contact at (613) 613-562-5893 or by email at Joanne.Hammond@compass-canada.com.
Postal Services
Where are the nearest postal service outlet from campus?
The University Pharmacy (corner of King Edward and Marie-Curie Pvt) is the nearest Canada Post outlet for students on campus. It sells stamps, normal enveloppes, and XpressPost envelopes.
Publicity
Are there restrictions for posting advertisements on campus?
To advertise on campus, you can post your publicity material onto any of the 80 or so bulletin boards located throughout the campus. You'll need, however, to get your poster approved by our Marketing and Communications service, located at 550 Cumberland. You can reach the service at 613-562-5708.
Selling used books, other items
Is there a classified ads service on your website?
Yes. We have developped an online classified ads board that can be used by U of O students and staff to trade all kinds of items.
Where can I sell my used textbooks on campus?
You can sell your textbooks at the University bookstore, found on the Concourse level (Level 0) of the University Centre.
Student ID
Where can I get an ISIC Card (International Student Identity card)?
You can get an ISIC card at the Travel Cuts office, located at 225 Laurier. You can also call them at 613-238-8222.
Where can I get my student ID card issued or replaced?
In order to obtain your student card, you must present yourself at InfoService, Tabaret Hall, room 129 (75 Laurier East). Please consult the university's web page on University of Ottawa Student Cards.
Transportation
Is there a ride-sharing service on the U of O website?
Yes. In fact, the U of O maintains two ride-sharing web sites. For intercity (out of town) trips, please refer to our Intercity Rideboard service. For local ride-sharing (within the Ottawa region), refer to the Protection Service's Carpooling service.
Where can I find the schedule for the shuttle going to Loblaws?

Tutors
Where do I go to get the services of a tutor to help me with my courses?
The Peer Help Centre offers tutoring service for students in all subjects. For more information, you can reach the Peer Help Centre at 613-562-5249.
Women Hygienic Products
I can't find machines selling women hygienic products anywhere on campus. Is there are place where I can find some?
The only two places where women hygienic products are sold in dispensers, are the Sports Complex on 801 King Edward (training centre: washroom and change room), and in the Montpetit Sports Facilities (change room and washroom on 1st floor). In the University Centre, there are no washrooms with functioning distributors. Students can purchase boxes of products at the Pivik, the SFUO's campus tuckshop located on the basement (0) floor of the UCU.
