Mois de la Francophonie – A successful fifth edition!
Close to 1000 members of the University community and of Ottawa’s Francophone community took in more than 20 events and activities on the campus as part of the Mois de la Francophonie. Two lectures proved especially popular: journalist Bernard Derome’s talk, as well as the discussion on digital versus traditional media. Together, the events attracted 360 people.
Students also really enjoyed the special activity organized in partnership with the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute as part of the Journée internationale de la Francophonie (March 20). The goal was to have them to discover the cultures from a few member states of the International Organization of La Francophonie by viewing content online while answering a quiz.
All in all, this fifth edition of the Mois de la Francophonie was indeed, for all Francophiles, an enriching month, highlighting the cultural vibrancy and effervescence of Francophone cultures through lectures, debates, exhibitions and other stimulating activities.
